Kling AI: what we can say about price without inventing credits
Kling is Kuaishou’s image-to-video and text-to-video product, used from outside China through kling.ai. It is not a token-priced language model, so the OpenRouter table does not describe it. Anyone who pastes a language-model discount under a Kling headline is changing the subject.
The number we will not print
Video products sell credits per clip, and the credit cost depends on length, resolution, and whether the mode is image-to-video. Those grids move. On 16 Oct 2026 we did not archive a Kling pricing grid into this repo. A remembered “66 credits” or “six free clips a day” would be a fabricated figure on this page. Open kling.ai and read the grid the day you pay.
The same limit applies to comparisons with Sora-class or Veo-class tools. Without a dated price per second from each vendor, the comparison is a vibe.
Quality
We did not load LMArena’s text-to-video or image-to-video split in this build. The text leaderboard we did load is about chatbots. It must not be cited as a Kling score. When we store that video file, the chart will be dated like the others. Until then, judge a clip yourself.
Privacy
A video prompt plus a face image is a more sensitive upload than a sentence. Kling is a PRC product. Do not upload a person’s face without a reason you could explain to them. The safety guide covers the general data-path point. Hailuo, MiniMax’s video app, has the same class of issue and is written up separately because the credit system is not the same product.
Questions
Is Kling free?
Kling offers a free allowance that changes. We did not record a credit count from the pricing page on 16 Oct 2026, so we are not publishing one.
How does Kling compare with Hailuo on LMArena video?
This build did not ingest the text-to-video split. There is no video Elo chart here until that file is stored with a date.
